Execution
Applying the thinking and design idea to the various brand elements.
1. Functional Specification and developer briefing.
Note: Work on the functional spec can occur simultaneously with the development of the style sheet in the phase above.
–
The DP develops a full functional specification that captures all the requirements of the build. This summarises all the notes from the wireframes and designs and includes the stylesheet, and any detailed requirements for the CMS.
The functional specification also includes a first draft of the proposed test plan (use cases).
–
The functional specification is reviewed with the Technical Lead.
–
Once they sign it off, the DP sends the functional specification to the external developer.
–
A ‘hand-over’ meeting is held with the development team to go through the functional specification and to address any questions. The DP and the Lead Designer to attend this meeting to ensure all requirements are briefed in and all questions are answered.
