 2. Ongoing rounds and image work

AD briefs in scheduled turnarounds through the Artwork and Design teams, ensuring tasks are in JobBag to reflect the timing and budget. Any major delays require the project plan to be updated and shared with the client and the Artworker, Lead Designer and Print Manager.

Artwork and Design coordinate between them to complete all required work within the agreed timeframe and budget, notifying the AD of any challenges to delivering.

Each version is checked by the AD against the client’s comments/mark-ups in the earlier version plus any new content delivered.

AD sends each turn to client for approval and reminds them of deadlines for the next round of feedback/mark-ups and/or any other outstanding requirements.

At the end of each turn, the AD communicates to the full project team any changes to scope, deadlines, budgets, or specifications.

If required, the document is sent by the AD to an external proof-reader at this stage.

Image retouching – in the later scheduled rounds, when selected photography has been, or is close to being approved, the Lead Designer briefs the Artwork team to complete all required image grading and retouching. For more complex work, or where an external specialist is used, a written retouching brief should be prepared.
